NBMDA Prepares to Release Valuable Industry Insights and Market Research

NBMDA has been working on a new strategic partnership that will bring enhanced value to our members in the form of timely market research and sales trend analysis. We have partnered with Cleveland Research, a highly respected research firm that focuses on consumer and industrial sectors with specific work related to building products (residential and non-residential), home centers and industrial distribution. Cleveland Research differentiates itself from its competitors with its focus on uncovering industry inflection points by developing deep relationships with suppliers and end-users throughout a sales channel. We will soon be able to provide our members additional value-added offerings via the partnership with Cleveland Research, including:

  • NBMDA Distribution Executive Quarterly Report: All NBMDA distributors will be sent a brief quarterly survey, which will take no more than 15 minutes to complete. It’s designed to collect data on sales trends, sales forecasts and management topics. The survey results will be aggregated, analyzed and distributed via a specialized report, which will provide insights into the health of the industry across major geographic areas as well as a means to benchmark your firm against your fellow NBMDA distributors.
  • NBMDA Monthly Market Research Access: Exclusive reports from Cleveland Research on various end-user markets, housing and home centers will be made available via the NBMDA members-only area within the NBMDA website (www.nbmda.org).
  • Mark Herbek, partner at Cleveland Research, will be a guest presenter at this fall’s NBMDA Convention in Chicago. Herbek will provide highlights from the NBMDA quarterly reports as well as insights from Cleveland Research’s independent research on the following: sales trends and forecasts for both new construction and remodeling; trends in e-commerce for building products; and new initiatives underway at Home Depot, Lowes and Amazon Supply and their potential impact on the channel.

Please watch for the first Distribution Executive Quarterly Survey in early July. Your participation is this brief survey is greatly appreciated and needed to generate a valuable aggregated report for all to benefit from. I am anxious to kick-off this new partnership with Cleveland Research and to receive your feedback on these new member services.

Sincerely,
Kevin Gammonley
NBMDA Executive Vice President
