Press Release: Würth Group Forms New Partnership with Dakota Premium Hardwoods

Vernon Hills, IL — November 8, 2017—The Würth Group, the world leader in distribution of fasteners, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Dakota Premium Hardwoods, the Texan trailblazer in the hardwood and lumber industry to the cabinet manufacturing and building materials segment. Dakota’s model is unique, which has allowed them to grow rapidly in their mere 10 years in business.   The current management team of Dakota will remain unchanged, including Ron Mazzarella as COO, who stated “I am so energized by this alignment and very excited about my role in growing Dakota into a huge success. The synergies and potential are amazing.”

Dakota carries many of the same brands as the other Würth Wood Division companies, as well as a large assortment of hardwood and lumber products.  Dakota Premium Hardwoods was founded in 2008 by A. Price Brashear Iv and operates in the state of Texas, with a headquarters in Waco and five other full-service locations in Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio. Brashear is excited about the future and stated, “The potential for the combined entities are astounding, Wurth’s scale and Dakota’s operational model and go to market strategy will make for an exciting and prosperous future”

The acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions.
