What is SBPD?

Distributors and their suppliers, who primarily serve the retail industry, have united as a unique membership segment of the North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA). While NBMDA provides these companies with resources to enhance their distribution management and operations, SBPD offers the tools necessary to provide exceptional customer service.

Who are SBPD members?

Distributor members operate inventory-stocked warehouses throughout the U.S. and Canada and represent both large and small distributors. Employing both an inside and outside sales force, SBPD distributors provide value-added wholesaling and marketing services.

SBPD distributor members serve a customer base primarily comprised of:

Independent retail dealers Local, regional and national home center chains

Associate members are manufacturers who have partnered with wholesale distributors in an effort to effectively and economically market their product lines to the retail market.

  • How is SBPD organized?

    NBMDA and SBPD are member-driven organizations. SBPD member volunteers, serving on a variety of different committees and the NBMDA Board of Directors, develop and coordinate the programs, services and events which are provided to SBPD members.

    NBMDA's bimonthly newsletter, Channels, includes specific information on SBPD members and upcoming SBPD- sponsored programs and events. All data distributed to the members through NBMDA's series of business surveys also includes analysis specifically for SBPD members.
