Quarterly Sales Trend Survey Update

NBMDA distributors now have a tool to benchmark their sales performance to other distributors and to access data on leading indicators which may help to predict future industry sales trends. The results of the first NBMDA Quarterly Sales Trend Survey which tracked data for the first two quarters of 2004 was distributed to those distributors that submitted data in early August.

NBMDA received nearly a 40% response rate to the Q1 & Q2 Survey. This was an outstanding response for a brand new survey. The results of the Q1 & Q2 survey are currently posted on the NBMDA website.

The quarterly reports generated from our surveys will provide you with valuable data on industry sales trends broken down by region, membership segment and annual gross sales volume. Results of the survey will allow business owners to benchmark their company's sales trends to quarterly industry averages and ultimately will provide you with comparisons from quarter to quarter as well as to prior year corresponding quarters. The program will grow in value as the sample size increases and trend data is accumulated.

The next survey covering the 3rd quarter of 2004 will be distributed the second week of October. Please consider participating. The questionnaire has been designed to be completed in no more than 10-15 minutes.

2005 Educational Development Program Now Available

The 2004 Educational Development Program was a huge success with over 50 member firms making donations and in return receiving a package of NBMDA programs and products along with year-long public acknowledgement for their support. In addition to supporting all of the educational offering provided to members throughout the year, the 2004 program raised the funding needed to launch the new Quarterly Sales Trend Survey. Its time to step-up and pledge your support for the 2005 program so the Foundation can continue its ongoing funding of stimulating educational and informational programs and events designed exclusively for NBMDA members.

As a 2005 donor, your firm will be extended numerous special acknowledgements throughout the year as well as a variety of bundled services which would cost you extra should you purchase these services separately. Distributor members should note that your participation fee in the 2005 Operational Performance Survey will be covered within your donation at the Silver level or higher.

Manufacturers should note that your 2005 Conference booth fee and Convention registration fees are included in donations made at the Silver or higher levels and thus offer an excellent value. As a Gold Sponsor, manufacturers will also have their 2005 membership dues covered.

Please take a close look at the donation program since many of the fees that you will likely be paying for separately are bundled into the various donor levels. Making one donation to the Education Foundation now makes better business sense than purchasing NBMDA services separately and, in addition, you receive special bonuses and acknowledgement.

New Money-Saving Member Services to Launch at Fall Convention

Workers Compensation Audit Service -
Questar Recovery Group will provide NBMDA members with a risk-free way to potentially reduce your worker's compensation insurance premium liability and recover premiums that have been overpaid over the previous 3 policy years. This service represents a FREE Second Opinion on your premiums from some of the most experienced independent premium audit specialists. The intention of this program is not to replace your agent, Questar does not sell insurance, but to give you the peace of mind that your agent and insurance carrier is taking advantage of every possible deduction, both legally and ethically allowed.

It makes smart business sense to obtain a second opinion on your premiums to ensure that the premiums were not only accurate, but that every legal deduction and calculation has been accounted for. Questar Recovery Group provides this risk-free opportunity, with no out-of-pocket expense. Most people do not realize that the insurance company allows you to go back on your previous three policy years and recover any overpaid premiums. Questar's independent premium audit specialists not only uncover legitimate deductions that were missed, but carefully scrutinize your experience modification rating, payroll, discounts and other contractual nuances to determine if you are entitled to a refund.

Questar is compensated, based on performance, with a portion of any qualified refund found. If there is no refund - there is NO CHARGE.

Learn more about this exciting new NBMDA member service at the upcoming Fall Convention in Chicago.

Credit Card Processing Services -
NBMDA is in negotiations with The Transaction Group (TTG), a full service payment solutions company, to deliver a transaction processing solution designed specifically for NBMDA members. The core service of TTG is credit card processing. TTG provides businesses with all services required to insure fast, efficient, and accurate settlement and funds transfer. From monthly paper reports to online real-time reconciliation systems, they facilitate the management of transactions from multiple locations, or web-store based commercial activity, from all credit card and debit card associations.

The Transaction Group program would be designed to help NBMDA members permanently lower operational costs, and increase market penetration and profitability.

NBMDA's program with TTG is expected to feature extremely competitive rates for credit card processing, check authorization and guarantee in order to be successful.

The new discount program will be launched at the upcoming Fall Convention in Chicago.

Credit Insurance -

NAW / NBMDA has developed a program with Euler Hermes ACI to offer wholesaler-distributors protection from non-payment by their customers. And in today's economy - where corporate bankruptcies are far too common - credit insurance is a smart investment. To learn how to take advantage of this program, click here.
