NBMDA and HPVA Partner for second successful Spring Convention!
Portland, Oregon was the site of the second co-sponsored spring convention of NBMDA and the Hardwood Plywood Veneer Association (HPVA). Members of both groups enjoyed several days of interaction and education featuring professional speakers and product specific training. Members or both associations enjoyed meal functions and evening receptions as well as a golf tournament at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club. Spouses and guests enjoyed a separate program and tour.
OPTIONAL 2 DAY PLANT TOUR:

The group was also allowed the unique opportunity to visit 11 different production facilities in two days! Such an extensive plant tour is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and cannot be duplicated within a two day time period any other place in the country. The tour visited Timber Products, Sierra Pine's MDF facility, Timber Products' "Spectrum" plant, Roseburg Forest Products, Georgia-Pacific Corp., and Northwest Hardwoods. Wednesday, April 28, the spouses toured Harry & David, historic Jacksonville, lunch at the Jacksonville Inn, and tour the Dogs for the Deaf facility.

NBMDA's co-sponsor for the 2004 Spring Convention is the Hardwood Plywood & Veneer Association (HPVA) based in Reston, VA. HPVA represents the interests of the hardwood plywood, hardwood veneer and engineered flooring industries. HPVA member companies produce 90% of the hardwood plywood stock panels and 95% of the sliced hardwood veneer manufactured in North America.
