About CIDA
Distributors and their suppliers, who primarily serve the cabinet industry, have united as a unique membership
segment of the North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA). While NBMDA provides these companies with resources to enhance their distribution management and operations, CIDA offers the tools necessary to provide exceptional customer service.
Who are CIDA members?
Distributor members operate inventory-stocked warehouses throughout the U.S. and Canada and represent both large and small distributors. Employing both an inside and outside sales force, CIDA distributors provide value-added wholesaling and marketing services. CIDA distributor members serve a customer base comprised primarily of:
- Custom cabinet shops
- Woodworkers
- Furniture manufacturers
- Store fixture manufacturers
Associate members are manufacturers who have partnered with wholesale distributors in an effort to effectively and economically market their product line to the cabinet industry.

- How is CIDA organized?
NBMDA and CIDA are member-driven organizations. CIDA member volunteers, serving on a variety of different committees and the NBMDA Board of Directors, develop and coordinate the programs, services and events which are provided to CIDA members.

NBMDA's bimonthly newsletter, Channels, includes specific information on CIDA members and upcoming CIDA-sponsored programs and events. All data distributed to members through NBMDA's series of business surveys also includes analysis specifically for CIDA members.
